Atlanta, GA — The Becoming Love Project is proud to announce the launch of its Youth Storytelling Program, an eight-week creative storytelling and filmmaking initiative designed to amplify the voices of young people and provide them with tools to tell their stories with confidence, purpose, and heart.

The Youth Storytelling Program serves young adults who have aged out of the foster care system, offering a safe, supportive space to explore identity, resilience, and self-expression through storytelling, writing, and short-film creation. Participants will work collaboratively with mentors, creatives, and industry professionals to develop and complete an original short film that reflects their lived experiences.

“This program is about visibility, healing, and ownership of one’s narrative,” said  Tamala Baldwin, Founder of the Becoming Love Project. “Our young people carry powerful stories, and when they are given the space and tools to tell them, transformation happens—not just for them, but for the communities who witness their truth.”

Program Highlights Include:

• An 8-week guided storytelling and filmmaking curriculum
• Mentorship from creatives and community leaders
• Hands-on experience in writing, filming, and production
• A completed short film project
• A public premiere showcasing participants’ work at the Becoming Love Fest in Fall 2026

The Youth Storytelling Program is rooted in the Becoming Love Project’s mission to create pathways for self-expression, healing, and connection through the arts. Rather than focusing on crisis intervention, the program offers an artistic outlet that encourages young adults to reclaim their voice, explore creativity, and build confidence beyond systems that once defined them.

Community partners, sponsors, and supporters are invited to participate through mentorship, funding, in-kind resources, and audience attendance at the film premiere.
