On Saturday, November 14, we’re getting dressed up and gathering at The Artisan at Tannery Row for the 2026 Heart Awards & Fundraising Gala. This night has been a long time coming…. even though our baby nonprofit isn’t even 2 years old yet.

We’ll honor five people who saw something in the world they wanted to change and decided to do something about it:

Malcolm Mitchell • Sunny Brown • TeeJ Mercer • Dr. Terrence Lester • Zoe Oli

That idea is deeply connected to why we created Becoming Love Project. We believe the stories we tell ourselves matter. They can keep us looping in chapters that no longer serve us, or they can become the beginning of something entirely new. Through writing, filmmaking, and mentorship, we give young people the space and the tools to start writing something new.

And y’all… this year, we took it all the way to the big screen. 🎬💜

At the Heart Awards, we’ll share an exclusive red carpet screening of The Way Back Home, the first feature film created through our Youth Storytelling Program. 🎬 The young people in our program didn’t just talk about filmmaking. They got to work alongside professionals and help make an actual feature film. Your ticket helps us do it again.
