Our Mission

Becoming Love Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that uses trauma informed storytelling and the creative arts to help young adults facing major life transitions heal from what they have lived through, build confidence and practical skills, and believe they can move forward toward creating the future they want for themselves.

MEET OUR FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Tamala.

Life, heartache, and healing led me to Becoming Love Project. Along the way, I discovered that writing could do more than help me tell my story. It could help me understand it, change the way I saw myself, and shift what I believed was possible for my life. I created Becoming Love Project so young people navigating major life transitions could experience that same kind of transformation and begin believing they can create what comes next.

A six-month storytelling and filmmaking program for young adults navigating major life transitions. Through screenwriting, filmmaking, mentorship, and hands on experience, you’ll explore your story, build real world skills, and begin creating what comes next.
