Fiscal sponsorship lets independent artists raise money through Becoming Love Project. Your supporters give to your project with a tax deduction, and you can apply for grants that only fund nonprofits.

Requirements

  • ♥An active Becoming Love Project annual membership
  • ♥A project budget of $5,000 or more
  • ♥A project that aligns with our mission
  • ♥You are the primary creative lead
  • ♥A fundraising plan of 12 months or less

What to know before you apply

Fiscal sponsorship is a partnership, and we want it to be a clear one. Here is what to expect.

  • Administrative feeBecoming Love Project retains 5% of all donations made to your project, after any credit card or processing fees. This supports the infrastructure that makes tax-deductible giving possible.
  • Program termSponsorship agreements run for up to 12 months from the date of approval. Fundraising should be completed within that window.
  • Fund disbursementFunds are released to you within 10 business days once your balance reaches $500, minus the 5% fee. You will have a shared spreadsheet to track your balance in real time.
  • Credit requirementSponsored projects include “[Project Title] was fiscally sponsored by Becoming Love Project” in their credits or materials, with our logo where it fits.
  • Your rightsYou keep full creative and intellectual property rights. Our role is administrative. Your project is yours.
  • Your responsibilityWe provide the structure, and fundraising is up to you. Come with a plan and we will cheer you on.
  • If your project does not move forwardIf a project is abandoned or delayed more than two years, undisbursed funds return to Becoming Love Project within 30 days, and disbursed funds must be documented with project expenses. Unspent funds may be redirected to our programs.
