Laundry: A Story of Pain, Protection, and Healing

Most recently, Alterik’s award-winning short film Laundry—based on his own lived experience—won the 2025 ABFF Black Father’s Competition and is continuing a celebrated festival run. Written as a way to process and heal from trauma, Laundry is both deeply personal and universally resonant.

The film opens difficult but vital dialogue about child safety, family protection, and the power of storytelling to transform pain into resilience. By bringing his lived experience to the screen, Alterik transforms the deeply personal into the deeply universal—inviting audiences to witness, reflect, and heal.
