NC A&T Alum Vondell Richmond Headlines Transformational Panel at Becoming Love Fest 2025

Vondell Richmond, an award-winning filmmaker, educator, and NC A&T alum, will bring his dynamic expertise to Becoming Love Fest 2025 at Eagle Rock Studios in Atlanta. Known for turning life’s most challenging moments into platforms for empowerment and creative brilliance, Richmond’s career spans filmmaking, acting, public service, and coaching. From his acclaimed film Sophisticated Romance to national theater tours alongside Kim Fields in TD Jakes’ Cover Girls, Richmond’s work demonstrates the transformative power of storytelling across mediums.
Richmond’s journey is a masterclass in perseverance and reinvention. From experiencing homelessness to earning magna cum laude honors at NC A&T and an MFA from Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts, he embodies the idea that stories shape lives—both personal and collective. Over the past 12 years, he has guided creatives, entrepreneurs, and communities as a speaker, coach, and mentor, helping them harness narrative as a tool for empowerment, healing, and generational impact. His unique ability to blend lived experience with professional mastery has made him a sought-after voice in media, education, and cultural leadership.
At Becoming Love Fest 2025, Richmond will moderate the visionary panel “Beyond Trauma Porn: Shaping Consciousness Through Media.” Attendees will engage with leading filmmakers, writers, and cultural innovators to explore how storytelling can honor truth without exploiting trauma. The panel will provide practical strategies to navigate sensitive narratives responsibly, amplify authentic voices, and use media as a tool for healing, empowerment, and cultural transformation.
“Storytelling is not just entertainment—it is the blueprint for how we live, connect, and shape culture,” Richmond says. “Becoming Love Fest is a space where creators can step into their power, rewrite narratives, and inspire communities.”
Becoming Love Fest 2025 is the inaugural event hosted by the Becoming Love Project, a newly designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The festival will feature keynotes, panels, workshops, and immersive experiences designed to spark creativity, cultivate connection, and elevate culture. Tickets are available now for Atlanta’s most anticipated cultural gathering of the year.
